Frequently Asked Questions
Who Can Sign Up?
We welcome musicians of any level, ages 5 and up!
For families with younger children, we offer 30-minute family sessions designed to introduce little ones to music in a fun, engaging way. These private sessions not only expose young children to the joy of music but also provide parents with simple, practical ideas for incorporating music education into everyday life. Call us at (863) 296 - 5221 to learn more.
When Does Enrollment Start?
Enrollment is open year-round. Private students can enroll at any time (subject to availability). Piano Lab students register for quarter-long programs (8-10 weeks) or month-long programs in the summer.

Are you certified vendors with Step Up for Students?
Currently, we are not certified vendors with Step Up for Students. However, you may still be eligible for reimbursement. To request reimbursement, please submit your invoice along with the instructor's credentials directly to Step Up for Students. We are actively working on becoming an approved vendor and appreciate your patience during this process.
What Materials or Equipment Will My Child Need?
We recommend having a piano or keyboard at home for practice. I’ll also assign homework on a digital platform, so access to an iPad or cell phone during the week is helpful.
-
Books: We’ll use a book series throughout the course, which parents can order after the placement lesson. Occasionally, I’ll send additional pieces for you to print.
-
Notebook: Students should bring a notebook to each lesson to take notes and track their progress.

Do We Need a Piano at Home?
While it’s preferred, an acoustic piano isn’t required. For beginners, we recommend an 88-key keyboard with weighted keys to best mimic the feel of an acoustic piano.
How Does Scheduling Work?
We’ll meet weekly at the same time and place.
What If My Child Misses a Lesson?
We understand that things come up! Lessons can be rescheduled but not canceled. Rescheduling is allowed within the current payment cycle, and it is the student’s responsibility to coordinate and schedule any make-up lessons.
Can I Drop Off My Child or Should I Stay?
You’re welcome to stay or drop off your child. However, children who aren’t enrolled must be accompanied by an adult.
Can I Bring My Younger Kids Along?
Absolutely! We have activities in the waiting area to keep younger children engaged. We also have an art room where kids can draw while they wait.

How Will My Child’s Progress Be Assessed?
We provide regular feedback on each student’s progress and offer optional performance opportunities to celebrate growth.
What Age Do You Recommend Starting Music Lessons?
We recommend starting lessons at age 5 or older, but we welcome musicians of any age and experience level.
How Are Group Classes Structured?
Each class begins with scales and finger warm-ups to build foundational skills. We then move on to a brief lesson on a specific concept, followed by practice time to apply what we’ve learned. The remainder of the class is dedicated to playing pieces, allowing students to explore music and develop their technique in a supportive group setting.
Are There Any Performance Opportunities?
Yes! We host an annual recital where students can perform and share their progress with family and friends.
How Do I Pay?
We’ll send a pay link via text or email on the first of each month (Zelle, Cashapp, Venmo). Lessons are sold and charged monthly (Some months will have four weeks, others will have five).
Do You Offer Discounts?
Yes! Refer a friend, and get a lesson half off when they sign up for 3 months or more.
Do You Offer In-Home Lessons?
In-home lessons are available at a premium rate based on distance and availability. We believe a dedicated music environment helps kids focus and learn best!
Can Adults Sign Up for Lessons?
Absolutely! We offer lessons for adults as well and welcome students of all ages.
How Do You Handle Student Behavior During Lessons?
We create a supportive, engaging environment that helps with focus and behavior. For younger students, we review expectations at the start of each lesson.

How Does Your Program Support Different Learning Styles?
Our lessons are tailored to each student’s learning style, using a mix of teaching methods to make lessons engaging and effective for all learners.
What Is the Cancellation Policy?
Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance to guarantee rescheduling eligibility. Please contact us via text at (863) 296 - 5221 for cancellations and rebooking.
